when you listen to an audio book, do you feel that you’ve “read” the book?

i get that technically you listened to it and haven’t read it, per se. however, all the same if you do read it afterward then it is familiar to you at that point.

Yes, when the Harry Potter series came out I was quite young so I used to listen to them on tape at first, and definitely felt like I’d read the book. Now I tend to both read the book and listen to the audio book if I can; when you read it you can picture it all in your head, and listening to it, for me, brings it all to life
