ipod touch – audiobooks in MP3 format?
I am getting some audio books for my sister who is vision impaired. She wants to play them on an ipod touch. The files are in sequential mp3:
book1-1.mp3
book1-2.mp3
book1-3.mp3
File sizes vary (one book all the mp3′s are 1.9mb, another book all the mp3′s are 17mb)
Ive never used an ipod touch. Can anyone tell me, will there be a gap between each file when she’s playing them back?
Is there an optimal / maximum filesize for mp3 files on an ipod touch?
If there is a gap, it will be a few seconds, no more. I have and use a Creative Labs mp3 player that is Audible enabled and it plays 100+ MB files with no problems. I imagine yours shouldn’t have a problem. If it does, I would suggest re-encoding the files to a standard bit rate such as 64 or 128.
My wife is similarly vision impaired and listens to .mp3 books every day. She absolutely loves the experience. I hope your sister does as well.
BTW, they should work in that same sequence.
