Care Feeding Marriage
Did you list your pets as an acquired purchase during marriage?
I’m filling out my divorce papers and one of the forms asked to “List Acquired Purchases During Marriage” and boxes to check off to wife or to husband. Okay-so besides the furniture,tv & appliances, would you or have you listed your pets?
*we purchased together a pet for $1000.00 (thats a big purchase for us) and I’m the sole care giver when it comes to vet bills, feeding, playing, etc., I Truly love this pet and it will crush my heart to lose it to my irresponsible spouse.
Absolutely, you can definitely list a pet as a purchase since it cost so much.
Just be sure you get the pet, you care for it and don’t let an irresponsible spouse win it. Hopefully he won’t fight you for it.
ADD: I understand you truly love your pet, you obviously care for it and are in the right mind set to include it in the divorce paperwork which I am sure your spouse has also neglected to do. I pray that you get your pet, I know what a strong bond and support system an animal can be in life and nothing matters more than love. Seriously, I went through a divorce and my pet was the only thing I made sure I walked away with. I would never live with myself knowing that bastard could keep him, with the knowledge of how neglectful he was to me and also to my dog. goodluck and defintely fight for your animal, they deserve love.
