who was Henry David Thoreau and what did he stand on/for?
who is henry david thoreau and what did he stand for? what did he do and how did he do it?
He was a paradox: he was for civil disobedience (influenced Gandhi and MLK) but without the wish for revolution.
So he decided to protest in his little house of Walden, in the outskirts of his hometown. This apparent seclusion didn’t prevent him to have dinner with his parents sometimes (lol)!
He went to jail a few times.
He also influenced the Transcendentalists because of his vision of Nature.
Interesting persona, even though “Walden” is not always very existing!
