Dean Koonts, Stuart Woods, Michael Connelly, or John Grisham?
ok my parents have a bookshelf full of a million books, and they say these 4 authors are the best. i wanna read some of them, but idk which ones are good. heres the books they have:
Dean Koonts:

Stuart Woods:

Michael Connelly:

i dont want anything really freaky and that will scare the crap out of me. so which books do you like, and which authors do you like?

I usually agree with reader, but I respectfully disagree about Dean Koontz. I think he is a wonderful writer. (Forgive me, reader!) Except for Phantoms, none of the books I’ve read of his are really frightening. They are more like thrillers with humor that lightens up the intense moments. However, everyone has his or her own tastes. Though your parents love these four authors, you may not agree.
Of the books you’ve mentioned by Dean Koontz, my favorites are The Face and the Odd Thomas series (Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, Brother Odd, Odd Hours). I haven’t gotten to some of them, but The Taking is a good apocalyptic story.
I haven’t read any books by Michael Connelly or Stuart Woods yet, though I’ve heard good things about both. John Grisham’s books are generally suspenseful and pretty good.
***Edit: Thanks, reader. I’m glad you answered. I just didn’t want you to think I answered to contradict you…I didn’t. Because I don’t like horror, I didn’t read Dean Koontz for years after reading Phantoms. Then I read a different book by him and was hooked. The book was The Face. You’re right, though, it is the beauty of books. We each have our own tastes and, thank God, about a zillion books from which to choose!
