Have anything to say about any of these romance authors?
Jennifer Crusie, Karen Hawkins, Debbie Macomber, Jayne Ann Krentz, or Erin McCarthy. I want to know if their books are ridiculous, romantic, sexual, interesting, or cheesy. I love blunt, slightly erotic books, with some real romance, but not taking themselves to seriously. I know, a lot to ask from a romance novel. Thanks in advance!
I’m 30, so keep that in mind for some of my answers
Jennifer Crusie is awesome. Her books are funny and sexy, my favorites are ‘Welcome to Temptation’ ‘Faking It’ and ‘Bet Me.’ Some of her novellas aren’t the best writing in the world, but in all, she’s very good. If you live Evanovitch, you’ll probably like Crusie.
Macomber has a dedicated following, and while I read her, I don’t love her. The books seem to be written more for the 40+ crowd. Not young feeling, conservative for the most part, and almost angsty.
I’ve read a few of Erin McCarthy’s, but not her Vamps. She’s OK too.
If you like a little bit of the otherworldy try Madeline Alt, Linda Wisdom or Katie McAlister. McAlister did a few non mythical creatures that are good- ‘A Hard Day’s Knight’ ‘The Corset Diaries’ and ‘Blow Me Down.’
