The novel The Spy Who Came From The Cold by John Le Carre is considered one of the best mystery/thriller novels of the 20th century.
It is listed among the 100 top Mystery Novels by Crime Writers Association (CWA) and Mystery Writers of America (MWA). It has also won an Edgar.
Apart from the above, what do you, as the readers and/or fellow writers think that make The Spy Who Came From The Cold so special? Is it the plot, characterization etc?
I have read books and articles that taught about the principle of fiction writing; show, dont tell. I see there a lot of telling technique in the said novel, but it is still considered one of the best novel on mystery/thriller.
So, what is the opinion from others who have read the novels?
